The extraction forceps are dental instruments and are divided into two main categories: the upper extraction forceps and the lower extraction forceps. These are further subdivided into the upper extraction forceps for the left and right quadrants and the lower extraction forceps for the left and right quadrants.
Due to the angular shape of the forceps, they provide precision and easy access to the teeth, allowing a good grip on all diameters and crown shapes of the molars, premolars, the lower jaw and upper jaw that need to be extracted, depending on the part of the mouth in which they are located. The more distal the teeth, the greater the angles, while the anterior teeth are straight for the upper jaw and have a 90-degree angle for the lower jaw.
The beak of the forceps with a perpendicular axis to the handles is the main criterion for the upper extraction forceps, while the beak that points with the handles to a longitudinal axis is the main criterion for the lower extraction forceps.
